Shambhala Training Offered at Gampo Abbey

Gampo Abbey will be offering the following Shambhala Training programs in the spring of 2009. These programs are open to the wider sangha beyond the Abbey. Depending upon accommodations guests may be housed in the Abbey or at the Abbey's guest house in the village of Red River 4 km from the Abbey.
Outrageous and Inscrutable, Garuda Dragon, March 13-15, 2009
Gampo Abbey is delighted to offer this March 13 - 15, a residential program directed by Cara Thornley on the Dignities of Shambhala Outrageous and Inscrutable. This program is open to those who have completed the Sacred Path program including Perky.
These fruitional dignities refer to the extraordinary skill of a practiced warrior. No longer afraid of making mistakes, the unconventional and visionary perspective of the outrageous warrior combined with the skill of spontaneous inscrutability to create benefit for others on a large scale.
Cost: The cost for the program is $100 plus accommodation of $25 per night which includes meals (vegetarian). $175 total fee for the program including accommodations and meals
Travel days for Outrageous and Inscrutable: plan to arrive in the afternoon of Friday March 13th, first talk 7:00 pm. Departure day will be the morning of Monday March 16th.
Golden Key, March 24 - 27, 2009
Gampo Abbey is delighted to offer this March 24-27, a residential program directed by Acharya Richard John on The Golden Key. This program is open to those who have completed the Sacred Path program including Outrageous and Inscrutable.
Drawing wisdom from The Letter of the Golden Key, a Shambhala root text that addresses our relationship to the material world and our sense perceptions, we will learn the practice of enriching presence—the ability to instantly sense the inner wealth within ourselves, phenomena and the natural world.
Cost: The cost for the program is $175 plus accommodation of $25 per night which includes meals (vegetarian). $275 total fee for the program including accommodations and meals.
Travel days for Golden Key: plan to arrive in the afternoon of Tuesday March 24th, first talk 7:00 pm. Departure day will be the morning of Saturday March 28th.
Transportation and Accommodation for Outrageous and Inscrutable and The Golden Key
Please note that Gampo Abbey cannot provide transportation for this program and that participants may be lodged in Gampo Abbey’s guest house in Red River, which is a panoramic 8 minutes drive, or 45 minutes walk from the monastery (in fair weather). Car pooling will be encouraged for those staying at the guest house. Registration is limited due accommodations.
