The Abbey is near the end of a gravel\dirt road that runs along the shoreline of the north west coast of Cape Breton Island. The highlands that make Cape Breton Highlands National Park (Cabot Trail) famous extend beyond the northern boundaries of the park up behind the Abbey along the coastline to Meat Cove.
